Nosotros, las congregaciones miembros de la Asociación UU, convenimos en afirmar y formentar el valor y la dignidad propria de cada persona.
On March 25, Dr. Coeyman will lead an orientation session for those interested in joining the church and for those who have recently joined and want to get more involved in church activities. Those attending will learn what it's like to be a Unitarian Universalist and a member of CUUC. The session will also afford an opportunity to get better acquainted with members of the congregation. Please let Henry Halff (210-493-7501, henry@quiensabe.com) know if would like to attend, if you have questions, or if you need further information.
By now, everyone should have received their invitations for our annual Fellowship Dinner to be held at the church on March 27. Joyce Chow, Sally Wiesen and Sue Minton are heading-up the food group; help is still needed on the set-up and break-down teams.
We have a great agenda of wine and cheese to start, with music by Peter Van Dusen and John Bradshaw; after dinner we have more musical delights from Sally's Garden.
We welcome all to join us in our plans. Our theme this year is Fellowship, and our decorations are the smiling faces of the attendees. For more information, contact Sue Minton minton22@yahoo.com
We've talked before about starting small groups in our church, both as a means of getting to know each other better and as a way of introducing others to our church. A group of us have met twice to explore this concept further. To find out more about the dynamics of covenant groups, Lisa Kuntz and I will be traveling to Houston on Saturday, May 1, for a workshop at First UU Church. Thandeka, professor at Meadville Lombard Theological School; Julia Rodriquez, Director of Outreach for the Center for Community Values; and the Rev. Robert Hill, SW District Executive, will lead the group in an exploration of values and deepening the life of the spirit through small relational groups. It you would like to join us, please contact me. Ð June Kachtik, 342-0135, junekac@aol.com

If we are to grow, we need to make it easy for visitors to learn about us. Our literature rack is getting pretty thin and out of date, even thinner and more out of date than last month. We still need someone, and that means you, to take a look at our literature rack, poke around the UUA pamphlet catalog http://www.uua.org/pamphlet/ and maybe even revise our CUUC materials. If you're interested in taking on this task, get in touch with Henry Halff (210-493-7501, henry@quiensabe.com).
The CUUC Men's Group meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the church for beer and soda, guy food, and occasional conversation. It also sponsors one outing or project each month. This month's project is a grounds cleanup scheduled for 2:00 on Saturday March 27. All male friends and members of the church are urged to attend.
Interested men can join the Men's Group's secret mailing list by sending an email to cuuc-men-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Henry Halff (210-493-7501, henry@quiensabe.com) can answer questions and provide further information.

The combined CUUCSA, FUUCSA YRUU youth group will be attending a rally at the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, March 26-28. The theme of this rally is "WOULD YOU LIKE CHOICES WITH THAT?" As their Social Action Project, the youth will be baking cookies and making gift baskets for Genesis Women's Shelter. ERDT/SHARE! is a non-profit international high school exchange program looking for host families in your area for the upcoming 2004/2005 fall semester and academic year.
Host Families-with or without children- are needed to host international teens from over 30 different countries for the 2004/2005 fall semester or academic school year. They are in need of caring families to provide a home and share with them this unique experience. The host family will provide a bed, meals, as well as friendship, understanding, and a genuine desire to share the American way of life with a youngster from overseas. The students speak English, are covered by medical insurance, have spending money for their personal expenses, and hope to arrive in early AUGUST for enrollment in their new high school. The students are between the ages of 15 and 18, and will attend the high school closest to their host familyâs home. Families are able to review student applications and select the student they feel will best match their family. The SHARE! High School Exchange Program is sponsored by ERDT, a non-profit educational foundation. For more information, please call Yvette Coffman at the SHARE! Southwest Office at 1-800-941-3738.
