Nosotros, las congregaciones miembros de la Asociación UU, convenimos en afirmar y formentar el valor y la dignidad propria de cada persona.
Summer RE Arts
Share an interest, hobby, skill, idea, book or experience with our children and come to more fully realize how delightful they truly are. Openings remain for June 25, July 9 and 23, Aug. 6 and 20th. We are, currently, creating children's art that might be used, in the future, on our covers of Order of Service. Looking for fresh ideas. Sign up sheet is in the Foyer or call Joan Bradshaw to share.
July 4 Picnic
We are having a 4th of July picnic...followed by the film "Eat, Drink, Man, Woman" by director Ang Lee at 7 p.m., part of the "Remarkable Films" series.
Bring swim suits and a dish to share. The grill will be ready for cooking at 5 p.m....Lisa Kuntz or Sally Wiesen will be there by 3 p.m. for those who want to arrive early. Those of us who are watching the film need to help with clean up BEFORE 7 p.m., so non-watchers are not stuck with K.P. : ) For more info, call Lisa (493-8092) or Sally (256-0628).
Community Garage Sale
Our CUUCSA garage sale netted $1400 this year-our highest total ever! Many thanks to all those who helped out by donating, sorting, pricing, selling-and buying! And, of course, a major thank-you to Steve Boyd and John Bradshaw for providing their usual oversight for the whole affair.
Churchyard Gates
Our Caretaker recently brought to our attention the fact that gates have occasionally been left open around church and on at least one occasion a stray dog found its way into our fenced area. For the safety of all, please close gates behind you. Thanks.
Adult Religious Education
Join Us For Catechism with an Open Mind, Sunday June 11, 2000, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Community U.U. Church Fireplace Room. BYOL(Bring Your Own Lunch). This will be the second meeting in a series that addresses basic religious questions in an open and personal inquiry based on the Unitarian Universalist curriculum authored by George Kimmich Beach. Participation does not require perfect attendance so if you missed the first session you can still come.
Books for Catechism with an Open Mind are available through the U.U. Bookstore (800-215-9076) for $15.00. We made a group order after the first session plus ordered a couple of extras which are available from Catherine McKee. Coordinators: Lisa Kuntz (493-8092) or Catherine McKee (681-4197)

New UUA Website!
The UU Service Committee has launched its redesigned Web site at http://www.uua.org. It is easier to navigate and contains more complete information on ways for individual UUs to work for justice and human rights. Additionally, it has improved resources for congregations looking for hands-on advocacy activities and projects. The URL is www.uusc.org . For more information, contact Denise Moorehead, dmoorehead@uusc.org
Calling All Poets (and Poetry Lovers)
Steve Botts is planning a "Celebration of Poetry" service on Sunday, June 25. This will be a sharing service in which CUUCSA members can contribute their favorite poems, both those authored by others and those written by members themselves. If you have poetry you'd like to add to the program, please contact Steve at 522-0981.
Women's Support Group
The CUUCSA women's group is a support group open to all women. The group meets every other Wednesday, upstairs in the "bean bag room" at the church. Participants support each other by listening to and sharing with one another in a group bound by trust and confidentiality. Meeting dates for the Women's Group for the rest of the year are June 7, 21; July 5, 19; August 2, 16, 30; September 13, 27; October 11, 25; November 8, 22; December 6 and 20.
