CUUC 2006 Service Auction

Welcome to the CUUC 2006 service auction.

The auction is a grand event event in which the entire community offers up all sorts of goods and services for auction and purchases whatever is offered up.

The auction ends on February 18th with the Grand CUUC Auction Gala. All donations will be auctioned off at the gala. The event this year will have a new-age feel with fortune telling and neck massages. In addition, the design competition for the new church sign will be decided at the Gala.

Many of the items offered thus far are now open for bidding in our silent auction. You can bid on these items using bid sheets available at church. The silent auction will end on February 18 at the grand Service Auction Gala. The gala will feature food, fun, drink, and a lively live auction of some of the more entertaining and attractive donations.

The success of the auction depends on your donations, and this page makes donation easy. Just follow these simple instructions.

First decide what to donate. For those at a loss for ideas, here are some suggestions.

Serve dinner at your house.
Pack a picnic lunch.
Cater, butle, tend bar, ....
Lead a hike, bike ride, pub crawl, ....
Paint a portrait.
Bake, roast, fry ....
Parents day off--take someone's kids to the zoo, the Witte, ....
Serenade someone's sweetie.
Conduct an auto or walking tour of ....
Write a poem, an essay, ....
Give someone tickets to the Spurs, a weekend in your vacation home, ....
Let someone pick a topic that you give a service on.
Teach someone how to fly a kite, dance the samba, ....
Consult on computers, antiques, interior decoration ....
Design invitations, business cards, web pages ....
Paint a room, hang paintings, arrange flowers, decorate, ....
Pay someone to fix up the church,

Next, fill in a donation form describing your donation. In the obscure jargon of the CUUC service auction, this form is known as "Form A," and you can fill one out by clicking on this link.

We understand that some of you may be uncomfortable with a web-based form. Never fear, a paper donation form is available at church or here in PDF format. If your computer is not running Mac OS X, you'll need to download Adobe Reader to read the form. You can return the completed form to the church, in person or by mail. But you should know that we need to have all the donations in by February 18.

Once you 've completed your donation form, you should repeat the entire process. Repeat it many times.

When you get tired of filling in donation forms, think for a moment about items that you wish were in the Service Auction. We'll bet that you can think of quite a few. If you fill in a request form (known in the field as "Form B"), we'll do our best to find someone to offer it. Filling out Form B is as easy as clicking on this link.

Form B is also available here in PDF format. You can return a paper version to the church by mail or in person. The deadline for Forms B is February 18.
